Happy Birthday to Mary Stewart!

Today is Mary Stewart's 93rd birthday. We send our best wishes to her for a happy day!

In honor of the event, we'd like to do a little GIVEAWAY! Chicago Review Press has been reissuing some Mary Stewart titles in trade paperback editions with lovely covers. The lastest is The Ivy Tree.

The publisher was nice enough to send us a review copy -- we, in turn, will pass it along to one of you. Simply leave a comment and you'll be entered in a drawing to win it. (International is fine, but please be aware that I will send it by the cheapest, slowest delivery method available to me. I'm a poor grad student, you know.) We'll pick a name out of the hat this Sunday.

Don't know what The Ivy Tree is about?! Read the blurb! It's so fabulous. Believe me.

For me, this was the most enigmatic of Mary Stewart's novels, and the ending was electrifying. I would love to have a copy of the re-issued edition. My ancient copy is tattered from many, many readings. As are, come to think of it, all my Mary Stewart novels. Thanks for keeping readers updated with news. Jana

This sounds great, and I've never read it! Happy birthday, Mary Stewart. I love the Merlin novels and The Wicked Day - have read most of them multiple times.

I have heard of Mary Stewart all of my reading life, but never tried one of her novels. This would be a wonderful start.

I would love to win a copy of "The Ivy Tree." Thanks to Misfit, this has been on my TBR list for a while. My county library only has a large print edition and I just haven't been able to bring myself to request that copy. Thanks for the opportunity, and many happy returns to the marvelous Mary Stewart!

I read this many years ago and would love my own copy. Happy birthday to Mary Stewart, who made me fall in love with her books at the age of 15 and remains one of my favorite authors.

Don't include me in the giveaway, as my copy is pretty new - but I'm thrilled that her titles are being reissued. I hope they do her entire backlist.

Happy Birthday Mary Stewart!

I have enjoyed two of her novels: "Nine Coaches Waiting" and "Madam, Will You Talk?", which I totally imagined with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly as the protagonists.

I would love to keep the reading mojo going with "The Ivy Tree."

I'm "international" and won't enter because I've just moved...which means that I know exactly how much it costs to send the smallest things!

But, cool contest. And, I'm glad that her books are still being reprinted.

Please enter me as well. I just finished my first Mary Stewart, "Thornyhold" and loved it! I cannot wait to read her other novels. Thank you!
